More Information on Worship Ministry Opportunities

If you would like more information on music ministry opportunities, please contact the church office, or email our worship pastor, Ted Kim. We have opportunities for regular or short-term commitments for vocalists and instrumentalists (especially for worship teams), actors, video editors, and artists.

Worship Choir - Third weekend of every month
The worship choir helps to lead worship in Sunday morning services once a month; rehearsals are on the day before (Saturday).  Contact Ted Kim for more information.

Vocalists & Instrumentalists- various events
If you're interested in becoming a vocalist or an instrumentalist at SPC, please download a brochure with more information on opportunities to do so!  Auditions for background vocalists and soloists will be held a couple times a year (but personal auditions can be arranged), so contact Ted Kim for more details.

Worship Leader Training Class
If you aspire to be a worship leader in the church for its many events (including Sunday morning services), this class is a great place to start.  The class will focus on the fundamentals of worship leading and will include a helpful workshop where each attendant will lead worship for the other students.  If you're an experienced worship leader and you'd like to hone your skills, please come to this class, too!  Please contact Ted Kim if you are interested.  Classes are held sporadically depending upon interest.

More About Worship

A Definition:

While worship is a broad word used to describe all of the Christian life, South Park's worship ministry is about musical worship - in other words, the words and music we bring to God, our heart attitudes and God's response to us. Worship is the act of glorifying God with our voices, our wills and our hearts. Worship is also God responding to us: to our praise, supplication, and declarations. One of the biggest reasons we love and value worship so much is because God visits us as we delight in Him (Heb 12:18-24). God draws near to us (Jas. 4:8), we draw near to God (Heb 10:19) and He even delights in us (Zeph 3:17). God expands our view of Him (2 Cor 3:18), God teaches us truth (Ps 73), and God ministers to us (1 Pet 2:5).

Our Purpose:

We aim to engage all people with the glory of God in all sorts of ways – from music to drama to all kinds of art forms. We believe that God is author of the arts, in fact He is the Artist that painted the world with His beauty in power. We want to redeem the arts because we believe that the arts were purposed to be vehicles to express His greatness and our longing for Him. This is why we place such a high value on music and why we are looking to build an arts ministry that challenges and delights our community. Please join us in this endeavor!

A Brief Word about Investment:

South Park Church offers all kinds of opportunities for musicians and artists. It also offers opportunities for leaders, too. If you are an artistic leader or a worship leader who is looking to grow, please come and check us out. We believe in a philosophy of ministry that is built around the raising up and releasing of gifted people for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
