Winter Bible Study

We are wanting to shift in a new direction for our small groups for the studies for 2012 in an effort to help you grow spiritually and connect intentionally. Two ways we would like to do this in the coming year is by having regularly scheduled studies throughout the year (with brief seasonal breaks) and having consistent small groups throughout the year with the same small group leader.

It is our desire to begin this new approach with the Winter Study. Our winter study is a lecture series on the book of Revelation by Beth Moore, Here and Now...There and Then. We are offering this study as an option on Thursday mornings, 9:30-11:30 or Thursday evenings, 7-9 pm. We will begin January 12 and end this study on March 22. This study is an unique one for Beth as there is only one day of homework per week.

Please stop by the welcome center this Sunday (registration runs through Sunday, January 8) and register ($15) for our Winter Study and write in the names of any ladies you would like to be in a small group with in the coming year.  Signing up for the Winter Study does not commit you to a year of studies, we will continue to take registrations for each study. You are welcome to join at any time your schedule allows through the year.

Women's Winter Breakfast

Spilling Over

Saturday, February 4, 2012

9-11:30 am

Chateau Ritz, Niles, IL

Join us for a morning of delicious food, joyful conversation, unlifting music and heartfelt messages about how God can pour into our lives causing us to spill over to refresh others.

Registration begins Sunday, January 15 at the Welcome Center.  Individual tickets are $17 a piece or buy a table of ten for $150.

Our featured speaker this year is Lisa Ballantine, Chief Executive Officer & Director of Filter Pure. Filter Pure manufactures and distributes an improved and inexpensive “point of use” water filtration device that is producible in developing countries. Lisa is a Chicago area native and has been married to Michael for 24 years. They have raised four children and now enjoy their first grandson.

A year of missions work to the Dominican Republic in 2000 transformed her family and fueled her interest in the need to bring clean water to the world. She had learned about ceramic water filtration and was interested in learning the technology. After returning to the US, Lisa began art classes at Northern Illinois University and consulted with the Technical Advisor for Potters for Peace, one of her professors. She later returned to the Dominican Republic where her low cost water purification device was further developed and is currently being used in countries around the world.

Lisa first felt God nudging her toward serving Him by serving others while involved in the drama ministry at South Park Church many years ago. She has loved being used by God in changing the world – one cup of water at a time.
