South Park will be offering the Alpha course this fall in conjunction with the Alpha invitation. An introductory dinner will be held on Sept 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Moretti’s Banquets (6733 N. Olmsted, Chicago, Il 60631).   South Park members are encouraged to invite friends and family to the dinner where a talk will be given on the topic, “Is there more to life than this?"  At the dinner, an opportunity will be given for guests to sign up for the weekly course.

The 8-week Alpha course will begin on Sept 22. Course topics include: Who is Jesus?;  Why did Jesus die?;  How can we have faith?:  Why and How Do I Pray?;  Why and How Should I Read the Bible?; How Does God Guide Us?; How Can I Resist Evil?; and Why and How Should I Tell Others?

What is The Alpha Course?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Who is Alpha For?

Alpha is for anyone who thinks there may be more to life than meets the eye.  Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.  Everyone is welcome.

What is the Alpha Introductory Dinner?

The dinner is your opportunity to invite a guest and attend a relaxed casual evening with friends you invite.  We will have dinner together and then a message entitled "Is there more to life?" will be presented by Pastor Eric Flood.  At the conclusion of the evening your guest will be encouraged to attend the Alpha Course over the next 8 weeks.

How do I invite a guest to the Alpha introductory dinner?

It's easy.  Talk to your friend and explain the dinner and the course.  Let them know the evening will be a casual one.  Fill in the form above to send them an evite to the dinner.  Follow up with them to see if they are interested in attending the Alpha dinner.

My guest has agreed to attend the Alpha introductory dinner.  Now what?

Congratulations!  If you sent your guest an evite, they may have registered themselves.  If they registered and indicated you as the person who told them about Alpha, we will send you a confirmation of their registration.  If they have not registered, click here to do it for them.

As a host, what is my commitment?

Attend the introductory dinner with your guest(s) and make a donation of $15 per person to cover the costs of meals for yourself and your guest(s).  If you are not able to make a donation, accommodations will be made.  If your guest decides to join an Alpha Course small group, encourage and pray for them.  Typically hosts do not attend small group meetings.
