Grades 6-12

Ascent – Grades 6-8

Sunday Mornings, 9:15 a.m.
Sunday morning Ascent includes a time of connection, group teaching and small group discussion.Although our goal is deep Bible study that ignites passion, we know the tremendous benefit of students attending inter-generational worship. So, we encourage all middle school students to attend Ascent during the 9:15 a.m. service followed by main service at 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary.

JAM – Grades 6-8

Wednesday Evenings, 6:30-8 p.m.
At JAM, students will engage in applicable Bible teaching in a fun and welcoming environment. A typical Wednesday night at JAM consists of games, Bible teaching, small group time, and worship. Our theme verse for JAM is, "Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Milestones

Milestones are the landmark developments we experience throughout our lives. They are our firsts. They include our first steps, first driver’s license, and first job. They also include our firsts of faith: trusting Christ, baptism, and discovering our unique gifts and calling. Milestones provide a map of spiritual growth with the Bible as the compass for navigation. As your child journeys through life from birth-12th grade, he/she will have the opportunity to celebrate many of these milestones! Click on the milestone below for specific info on each.

Family Dedication

Family Dedication is a time when parents publicly express their commitment to raise their child in a home that honors Christ. Dedication isn’t about ONE DAY but rather a choice to dedicate your lives, as parents, to sharing and modeling the Truth of the Bible and the love of Christ.

Family Dedication ceremonies typically happen two times a year during our worship services on Sunday morning.

On special Sundays when we celebrate Milestones, incoming 1st Graders at South Park Church will be presented with a Bible so that they could begin reading it together with their family and learn about Jesus.

Baptism

Baptism has been practiced by followers of Jesus around the world for thousands of years. It has served an essential function in worship among people in all kinds of settings, cultures, and circumstances. Baptisms are occasions when the gathered church hears stories of how Jesus is changing lives. It is a time for us to announce that the old had gone and the new has come. It’s a time to celebrate rebirth and new life in Christ.

Launch

The opportunity to launch your child into the adult world is never as clear as it is on that first day of college. There is often a sigh of relief (that they made it!), hope for their future (that they’ll make it!), with a little knot in your stomach called fear (that they won’t make it!). We want to help make the launch with your child a meaningful milestone. You may have ideas of your own that you have found helpful. But if you are stuck, unsure what to say or do, click here for some guidelines and options to consider.
