Nick Powell

How did you become a Christian?
I became a believer in 1992 at the age of 30 when I was going through a hard time in my life. I cried out to God to save me and I accepted Jesus's redeeming work on the cross. Since then I have been on the journey of living out my salvation, and He has been transforming me and blessing me by the power of His Holy Spirit.

How long have you been at SPC?
My family and I have been attending SPC for 16 years

Why are you drawn to the role of Elder?
I love to serve wherever God wants to use me, and if I can bring anything to the church, I will always embrace the opportunity.

What is your favorite Bible verse or story?
Romans 12:2 -"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Where are you involved through SPC?
I have been involved for many years with Iron Men, Celebrate Recovery, The Great Banquet, the Worship Team, and Small Groups.

What is a fun fact about you?
My father was in the British Army, so I grew up living in many other countries. .As a 7 year old when we lived in Singapore I had a pet monkey!
