South Park Church is an interdenominational church with over eighty years of making disciples of Jesus. Located in Park Ridge, our church family represents several surrounding suburbs. We long for God to renew us, the city of Chicago, and the world.

Our History

1940-50s

South Park Church began in the early 1940’s as an outreach to children and an adult Bible study. Early meetings took place in the South Park Fieldhouse where Billy Graham came as a guest preacher. Originally named Park Ridge Gospel Church, the name was changed and today’s property was donated in 1953.

Our History

1960-70s

The new sanctuary was constructed during the 1960’s. In the 1970’s, South Park’s Youth Ministry began Son City Youth Group, where hundreds of high school students gave their lives to Christ.

1980s

While outreach has always been a focus at South Park, during the 1980’s we made several significant partnerships. One of the most notable is India Rural Evangelical Fellowship who are working to break the cycle of poverty through education, evangelism, and community engagement.

Our History

2000s

During the early 2000’s we began our partnership with Safe Families, an organization that stands in the gap for at-risk children. Small Groups, Iron Men, and family ministry all experienced dramatic growth. And extensive renovation was conducted to provide a facility that can support dynamic ministry for years to come.

2020s

God loves to send people on mission to their neighbors and the nations and He is at work doing just that in our church today! Our vision is to be a church where every one of us is empowered to make Christ known wherever we live, work and play!
