How did you become a Christian?
I was born into a family where faith in God was imparted and important. I accepted Christ as my savior in the fourth grade via a gospel presentation shared during Awana (children’s discipleship program).

How long have you been at SPC?
My family (Kristin, Annalie, and Brayden) and I have been attending South Park for eight years.

Why are you drawn to the role of Elder?
The Elder role is not something I take lightly (Titus 1:5–9; I Peter 5:1–4; Acts 20:28–31; James 5:14). I’ve prayerfully and humbly considered serving as an Elder. I have consulted with my wife and some close confidants to get additional perspective. The affirmation from those close to me and the peace with the Lord are propelling me forward in the process. I have faith that where God is calling He will provide. It is only in God’s grace and power that any of us can faithfully serve as He intends.

What is your favorite Bible verse or story?
One of my favorite Bible stories is found in 1 Kings 19. In chapter 19 we see God’s compassionate care for His prophet Elijah. Elijah was at the end of himself. Despite Elijah's wavering faith and fear God faithfully ministers to His servant. I find great encouragement in God’s gracious response and gentle care for Elijah.

Where are you involved through SPC?
Iron Men table leader, Small group leader, Small group shepherd for three years (2017-2020), Leadership Team consultant on vision (April 2021- October 2021), Chair of Pastoral Search Team (October 2021- present).  I’ve had the privilege to teach at Iron Men several times each year and preached at SPC twice.

What is a fun fact about you?

I have never drunk a cup of coffee and I enjoy Premier League Football (soccer).
